These are two different openings : Admin and Architect .
Must-haves
- 5+ years of Hadoop Infrastructure Administration
- 1+ year of Hadoop Infrastructure Architecture
- Experience working with one of the distribution systems: Ambari, Zookeeper, Avro, Hive, or Yarn
- Implementation/Administration of either Cloudera, MapR, or Hortonworks
- Perl, Python, or Java scripting
- Linux OS
- Experience with troubleshooting potential Infrastructure configuration problems - understand from an infrastructure perspective where the issue is coming from and when to solve the issue and when to escalate it. Suggest approaches on how to fix certain issues such as: version compatibility issues, ip addressing, network pools, disk failures, Hadoop system being up/down

Architectural duties:
They won't be doing 100% of the design/architecture, but they have to have some experience with designing an environment for Hadoop, being able to recommend and leverage certain technologies. They need to know how to explain how the security should be implemented within Hadoop, and outline what kinds of advantages they would see using one tool vs. another. Examples would be Hspace vs. Cassandra, Pic vs. Hive, etc.
They won't be doing 100% of the design/architecture, but they have to have some experience with designing an environment for Hadoop, being able to recommend and leverage certain technologies. They will be responsible for provisioning, managing, and monitoring Hadoop once it has been implemented. As stated before, they will work alongside the Architect where they will be expected to implement/administer either Cloudera, MapR, or Hortonworks. They should have also worked with one of the follo! wing distribution systems: Ambari, Zookeeper, Avro, Hive, or Yarn. They will look at scripts written in Per, Python, or Java, so scripting experience is necessary in one of those languages. Once Hadoop has been implemented, they will configure, upgrade, fix, backup, monitor, and cluster the system as well as perform routine maintenance.

Hadoop is a brand new technology to this company, so they need a Data Architect to design the infrastructure layer and a hybrid of an Administrator/Architect to help design the environment.
