Position: PL/SQL Developer

Location: Dallas, TX

Duration: 6 months w/ likely extension

Need Face to Face

Our client is looking for a skilled Oracle PL/SQL developer to assist in coding and scripting, as well as query optimization in SQL Server using Query Optimizer. 

Technical skills and experience required for this position include: 

5 years related experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer 
Experience with Oracle 10G RAC and UNIX scripting 
Effective verbal and written communication skills 
The ability to exercise independent judgment with direction from supervisor 

Although not required, preference will be given to candidates with airline and/or freight logistics experience. The ideal candidate should also possess some Database Administration experience that includes: 

At least 3-5 years with direct experience in Oracle 10g or above 
Experience in support of Oracle Clustered databases 
Experience in support of SQL Server databases 
Designing and sizing distributed database management systems to meet specified non-functional application requirements 
Monitoring, analyzing, and tuning of distributed database management systems to achieve optimum performance 
Developing relational database models using a tool such as ERWIN or Rational 
Developing logical data models from existing business requirements 
Data analysis - interviewing subject matter experts and documenting requirements 
Data design - data modeling and logical database design 
Transition of logical database models to physical databases 

Physical database maintenance and tuning
