[DK GreenRoots] Insects disappearing

If you're not aware, pretty stark research out of Germany showing a 75% decline of flying insect mass over 25 years in nature reserves across Germany.

This is, as I understand it, some specific 'biomass'-related data aligned with scientific work showing declining insects across the planet.

Honestly, the extent of this is pretty shocking to me ... amid all the threats to ecosystems, extinctions and reduction of non-human-related food production biomass & ecosystem, that 75% is pretty stark/shocking to me.

If you haven't seen the German work/reporting on it, a quick post connecting that science to daily life (including: do you have as many dead insects on the windshield as you used to have?). https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/10/23/1709062/-Insects-disappearing-pesticides-climate-change
