Senior Developer / System Admin, Technical Team Lead

looking for an expert-level web developer. The engineer must be able to manage multiple concurrent priorities spanning new software development projects as well as applications maintenance and support. Individual must have a strong technical foundation as well as a full understanding of common coding standards, configuration management, and full life cycle systems development. Be able to work effectively with our client's technical leads, our other in-house developers, and non-technical staff from other departments. This person would have strong communication skills, and posses the ability to present complex technical information to a wide range of audiences, from other technical staff to senior management. Individual should be a fast learner of new technologies, be a creative thinker, share skills and information freely, and be able to mentor and train other developers.. This person should be a strong, hands-on, senior-level developer system admin, who is also capable of leading the rest of the development team.

Technical Experience:

- Expert experience in analysis, development, integration, testing and implementation of applications

- Expert web application experience using LAMP: Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP.

- Expert experience in shell scripting, LAMP server administration, backup strategy and execution

- Expert technical knowledge of PHP, Object-Oriented programming, design patterns, and best practices in PHP 5.

- Expert experience with the PHP5 Symfony framework or another MVC development framework.

- Expert Experience in database design and ORM tools.

- Expert experience in designing REST Client-Server Web services

- Expert experience with maintaining Subversion, or other version control methodology.

- Previous use of Zend Studio, or another PHP specific IDE is desired.

- Knowledge of UML, unit testing, HTML/CSS, Javascript libraries

Team Leadership:

- Proven experience leading a team of at least 5 full-time front-end and back-end developers

- Experience preparing technical specifications, design documentation, code walk-throughs, test plans, and documentation of completed code

- Help define requirements, and explain the capabilities and limitations of various systems.

- Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

- Communicates and enforces coding standards

- Manages resources within budget and project schedule

- Generates enthusiasm among team members, and plays an integral role where hands-on development is concerned

- Facilitates effective team interaction

- Challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model

- Provide assistance and training to the other engineers

Communication Skills:

- Must be able to communicate effectively with clients who are technically savvy as well as clients who look to us for technical advice.

- Must be able to collaborate with in-house project management staff to keep the project running smoothly
