Description      Sr. ETL Designer/Developer (Datastage)

The Sr. BI/DW ETL Developer/Designer is responsible for transferring data from the legacy systems to the data warehouse efficiently.  The developer may also be responsible for data validation, data cleansing, data transformation and calculations, as well as writing and scheduling the load jobs.  This role must understand all the business rules currently existing in the legacy system and insure they are accounted for in the new system.  This position works closely with the EIM team members and other IT functional teams to analyze, create, implement, and support ETL mappings.

 ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø  Design the system components for the extract/transform or conversion of data from source systems to the target application

Ø  Design system components which reconcile and audit the results of the extract/transform or conversion of data from source systems to the target application

Ø  Construct the extract/transform, transfer and audit components of a data warehousing system or data conversion programs through the use of extract development tools or custom developed procedures

Ø  Define and manage the manual data load procedures; facilitate the change data capture

Ø  In addition to creating new mappings, also responsible for monitoring and supporting current mappings, and re-designing those to make them run faster and more reliable

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Ø  A degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, equivalent work experience of 10+ years overall IT or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired

Ø  5+ years experience working with IBM Data Stage, and/or other ETL tools

Ø  Ability to design and develop complex ETL mappings, sessions, workflows and identify areas of optimizations

Ø  Ability to read and/or design logical and multi-dimensional data models

Ø  Experience with ELT - Extract Load Transform - transformation work occurs after the data has been loaded into the target database in its raw format and is transformed and moved to tables

Ø  Experience with MS SQL Server 2008 R2

Ø  Experience with Oracle RDBMS 10g or 11g

Ø  Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are required

Ø  Proven ability and desire to mentor/coach others in a team environment

Ø  Experience with relational, multidimensional and OLAP techniques and technology

PREFERRED SKILLS

Ø  Previous Supply Chain or Logistics industry experience

Ø  Working with and coordinating with a global extended support team

Ø  Experience with Oracle GoldenGate and change data capture

Ø  Experience working with IBM iSeries to migrate data to our new DW environment

Ø  Ability to work with cross cultural, diverse, and geographically distributed teams
