Position : SQL Server DBA

Location:  Nashville TN (local candidates preferred and onsite interview required)

Duration:  long term

 

SQL Server 2005 Environment:

 

·         Can backup and restore prod db's to test/UAT for programmers/testing Setup SQL Server database Security - logins, users, roles, permissions etc...

·         Familiar with creating SQL Server objects: tables, constraints, indexes; Functions; stored-procedures; triggers etc...

·         Know how to Import/export table data from database and non-database sources Familiar with DTS/SSIS to support current SQL Server jobs Understand how to work with a Clustered SQL Server - Cluster manager; failover instances etc...

·         Work with both default and named-instance SQL Server instances Familiar with Transact-SQL Familiar with using SQL Profiler (traces) for problem solving Familiar with resolving database errors Familiar with trouble shooting Client/application connectivity issues

 

Oracle Environment:

 

·         Familiar with Oracle Tools - SQL WorkSheet, Oracle Enterprise Manager, sql loader etc...

·         Familiar with creating Oracle database objects Familiar with setting up Database security Familiar with setting Unix Cron schedules Familiar with Unix corn shell scripting Familiar with PL/SQL - packages, procedures, functions etc...

·         Familiar with various backup/restore methods - cold backup (OS files); logical backups (import/export); hot backups (rman) Familiar with managing storage - tablespaces, datafiles Familiar with trouble shooting Oracle database issues - alert log, traces, dumps

 

Generic:

 

·         Able to setup FTP's for incoming table loads for both SQL Server and Oracle.

·         Able to manage assignments with deadlines and also any support issues that arise concurrently Assist Programmers/desktop Services/users with application database connectivity issues Assist Network Services with DB related Vendor software installations Able to provide Disaster Recovery support

 

Not required, but considered a plus:

Sybase Gateway Environment:

·         Understand how to setup User Accounts in Gateway Understand how to setup new OpenServer Applications - rpc's, trnsgrps etc...

·         Understand how to request RCT/RDO table entries for DB2 related OpenServer applications Able to troubleshoot Gateway problems IBM DataStage 7.5
