Job Description:
NAS Engineer will provide NetApp technical expertise and assist in the design activities related to the NAS arena. Involvement will initially be concentrated on the file server migration to NAS and SnapVault topics, but may eventually include release management, engineering, and support activities. The position requires significant expertise across a broad range of Datacenter functions such as disaster recovery, networking, NAS, and Microsoft Windows file serving.

NAS Engineer will be responsible to provide:
• Level 3 support for the NetApp technical design & implementation
• Assurance of the Vendor supplied designs
• Assist in the design of data migration method(s) from Microsoft Windows to the NetApp architecture
• Assist in pilot planning and execution
• Support for pilot launches utilizing NetApp NAS for file serving. Any deployment/data migration operational issues (escalation)
• Lab testing
• Compliance documentation
• Potential NetApp disaster recovery engineering
• Additional NetApp platform engineering

Significant expertise is required in the design, configuration, & support of NetApp storage systems running the Data ONTAP operation system 7.x or higher. A solid understanding of the Write Anywhere File Layout (WAFL) file system, volumes, aggregates, qtrees, and quotas is required.
Expertise in implementing NetApp active-active controller configurations to ensure continuous data availability and rapid recovery of data in the event of a disaster, and in using the SnapMirror, and SnapVault products to manage and protect mission-critical data.
Comprehensive skills required to perform design, in-depth support, and performance management for CIFS & NFS on a NetApp storage appliance in a multiprotocol environment.
Expertise using the following NetApp software:
• DataFabric Manager suite (Operations/Protection/Provisioning Manager)
• Multistore (vFilers)
• NDMP
Proficiency in designing and supporting data migration methodologies in a Windows and UNIX environment. Familiarity with the following data migration tools is preferred:
• Quest Storage Consolidator
• Script-Logic Secure Copy
• Stealthbits StealthAudit
• Beyond Compare
