5+ years overall experience working within an MQ series environment
2+ years MQ Engineering/Architectural experience
experience installing MQ, designing the environment, working with business units to suggest best practices, initial documentation, etc

Role
This person will be involved in working with customers to ask questions when they have a request to initially install MQ and the subsequent architecture. They must know how to architect the environment, give suggestions on how to build out the environment as well as best practices. They will be doing initial documentation and being the liaison for overall design/engineering of MQ environments.

Develop, design, test, support and assist in evaluation and implementation of the IBM MQ Series and MQ/FGTE Middleware products supporting corporate and divisional users.
Infrastructure Application Administration including application upgrades and patches.
Participate in short and long range planning activities.
Lead technical initiatives in the overall design of Middleware solutions.
Participate as a technical team member and work on cross-functional/divisional IT teams to understand and help formulate functional requirements and make recommendatio! ns leveraging existing or new IT technology components.
Define standards and best practices.
Provide project cost estimates, and present alternative solutions/approaches to problems.
Completes project tasks within time and budget constraints.
Review current infrastructure processes and make recommendations for improved operation or enhanced business function.
Develop scripts for day-to-day support and operations of the environment.
Assist development staff in the implementation and utilization of Middleware applications to their full extent.
Troubleshoot application development issues at a programming level.
