Basic Description

This position will be responsible for installing and configuring new open source LDAP environment with a database backend. The engineer will work closely with infrastructure, network, database and application teams to insure the LDAP environment is highly available and performing within agreed on service levels as it relates to LDAP authentication and authorization. 

In addition, this position will contribute to the automation and scripting of tasks performed in the LDAP environment.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated ability to apply problem analysis and resolution techniques to complex system problems
• Project implementation experience including design and management of complex solutions utilizing Linux based LDAP environments
• Knowledge of Firewalls, network intrusion detection, host-based intrusion detection
• Knowledge of Vulnerability assessment tools, enterprise security management tools
• Encryption methods, PKI, VPN, TCP/IP
• Anti-virus, internet content filtering devices
• LDAP, directory services, authentication portals
• Networking communication skills

Qualifications

• 3+ years development experience using BASH, PHP, PERL, Java script and UNIX Shell
• 3+ years supporting LDAP in a large corporate based environment. 
• Preferred experience with open source solutions such as OpenLDAP, Apache Directory, 389 Directory Server or Red Hat Directory Server
• 3+ years supporting open source Linux operating systems (RHEL, CENTOS, SUSE) and hardware in an enterprise environment.
• 3+ years' experience installing, configuring Linux based LDAP environments

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, performance test open source LDAP environment with database backend
• Assist in the development, installation and testing of LDIF schema
• Provide initial production support of our LDAP infrastructure including;
• Monitor and maintain LDAP server performance and health
• Automation development and support
• Support the implementation of existing and new applications utilizing LDAP for authentication and authorization
• Support production batch processes
• Produce ad hoc scripts and batch processes to support production demands
• Participate in application code debugging as it relates to LDAP
• Utilize industry standard technologies to insure the integrity of recoverability of LDAP servers; backups, patch installations, performance monitoring etc.
• Work with the project and application development teams to implement new business initiatives as they relate to LDAP
• Work with application teams to install LDAP system updates, patches, version upgrades as required
• Implement vulnerability and operating system patches to insure compliance and system integrity
• Work with application teams to troubleshoot complex problems that impact our customer's ability to perform required business functions
