Position- Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) Engineer

Responsible for enterprise-wide application hosting technology strategy, standards, reference architecture and lifecycle. This includes: defining, implementing and communicating technology standards and policy – researching new products and changes/updates/patches for existing products – develop configuration, packaging and deployment standards as well as HA and DR strategies – development of product and technology reference architecture – testing and evaluating products and patterns – writing comprehensive technical documentation.

Familiarity with the following and/or comparable technologies and their strategic implementation to host applications in a private/public cloud environment as well as in a physical datacenter:

1. Vblock and HP Servers
2. WebLogic
3. Apache Web Server
4. IIS / .NET
5. RHEL, Solaris and Windows Server OS
6. VMWare vCloud Suite
7. Microsoft eco-systems such as Active Directory and DNS
8. Amazon Web Services
9. F5 Load Balancers and Cisco network devices

Accountabilities:

1. Author Design, Implementation and Support documentation
2. Provide support to the Solution Engineering team towards designing solutions to meet customer requirements
3. Develop strategies for private cloud offerings
4. Develop methods to create repeatable and efficient deployment procedures, automation
5. Develop frameworks and best practices for disaster recovery and high availability
6. Manage the lifecycle of the full catalog of application hosting technology products – evaluation, introduction, steady state and retirement

Experience:
• Significant expertise (5 to 7 years) in defining, designing and deploying global business application hosting infrastructure (Systems Engineering and Architecture)
• Has played a lead role in architecture, design, implementation and documentation with SME knowledge in one or more related technology areas.
• Effective communications (oral and written), presentation delivery and influencing skills, especially with senior management and customers on technology strategies and standards; able to create and maintain cross-segment relationships and foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and cooperation; drive change in process and behaviors
• Strong analytical focus, results-oriented and execution driven, with the ability to align technology developments with the generation of potential competitive business advantage
• Self-starter with desire to understand work and project objectives, big picture
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to identify learning opportunities, improve current processes.
• Shell, Python, Pearl, Ruby and Powershell scripting experience
• Experience in Unix, Linux and Windows environments
• Possesses a good understanding of IT service management
• Significant experience in high availability and disaster recovery functionality
• Significant experience with tuning application hosting environments to ensure optimal performance
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies
• Ability to identify and elaborate enterprise-wide impact of major product technology trends.
• Has significant experience in vendor management, communication with vendor engineering and vendor product development.
